3W Studios Champs Again

3W Studios is once again Warner Soccer Over-30 Division Super Six champions! After consecutive defeats in the final, both at the hands of 1040s, the team turned the tide to come out 4-2 victors.

With a streak of 5 losses to 1040s to overturn, including regular season games, 3W was motivated and started strongly. Some less-than-pretty goals (but they all count!) gave them a 2-0 lead before conceding a goal to some crisp passing.

After the half, the game closed down and was very even. 3W made the most of a rare chance to extend their lead, and then played strong defense to throttle any opportunities for 1040s. The tempo rose in the closing minutes and 1040s pulled on back to leave it finely balanced, 3-2 with 2 minutes to play.

In the dying seconds, having gone close twice, 1040s fell victim to a breakaway goal. With everyone forward, no one was back to defend a long throw from the keeper and after another less than attractive skirmish on the goal line, 3W put it away to seal the victory.
