3W Studios Takes Soccer Title

Congratulations to the new Warner Soccer Over-30 Division Super Six champions! The team, bearing the name of their sponsor, 3W Studios, pulled off a dramatic win on November 5th to cap an exciting season.

After starting off with a painful defeat, 3W Studios won out to finish 5-1 and take the top spot at the end of the regulation season. First seed did not guarantee easy progress, however, and the semi-final game saw 3W claw back from 2-0 down to win on penalties, after extra time failed to provide a winner.

The final pitted the team against their season's nemesis, A.J.'s. Having trading crushing victories during the regular season, this was to be the tie-break. 3W trailed 1-0 at the half, but played their way to a 3-1 lead. A.J.'s kept their cool to tie up the game and send it into extra time. With barely 2 minutes to go, 3W scored the vital golden goal to take the championship.

After winning the inaugural Over-30's season back in 2001, 3W Studios has struggled to win that last big game, often finishing second or third. This season's win is long overdue, and thoroughly deserved.
