The Social Web
A new survey from the UK suggests that businesses might be losing productivity because of the internet. I think we can file that under "blindingly obvious". The survey focuses on social networking sites such as Facebook, and claims that £130 million is lost a day to such surfing. The report goes on to recommend that businesses block such sites.
Meanwhile, some organizations are seeing the benefit to social networking; the CIA has announced the creation of A-Space, a Facebook for spies. Apparently, many spies are increasingly unable to email each other because of various firewalls, but now they will be able to share their holiday photos with ease.
Not to be outdone, we keep ourselves busy with all kinds of social networking. Our latest favorite is Pownce, a simple sharing site that cuts down on those heavy email attachments.

One more for the cabinet
Following on from its success in the Florida Public Relations Association's Capital Chapter Image Awards (say that five times) Kidd Public Relations has gone on to win at the state level. The "Your Forest. Managed." Media Kit for Florida's Division of Forestry won a Golden Image Award at the FPRA's 50th Golden Image Gala in Sarasota. The Golden Image Awards are the standard for public relations excellence in Florida. The media kit was part of an overall campaign created by Kidd Group and 3W Studios that also won a Silver Addy earlier this year.
