Milestones: 10 years & 100 million sites
The year was 1996. Dolly the Sheep was cloned, 3W Studios was born. It does seem like just yesterday but amazingly it's true: we're ten years old. We know what you're thinking... we turn 10 and never write anymore. Well, we've been rather busy these days. Sites of ours have been popping up all over...places like Tallahassee, Orlando, Houston, France and Bali. So besides some important browser news, this newsletter will focus on some of our recent work. We hope the long wait was worth it.
Oh, and about that other milestone... CNN has reported that there are now 100 million Web sites out there with content. Of those, there are about 48 million that are considered "active" and updated more often. If your site is one of the 52 million that could use some refreshing, look no further than the company wearing the birthday hat.

Time to update your browser
As you may have heard, Microsoft is launching the latest version of their browser, Internet Explorer 7. Web developers have been waiting in trepidation for this new launch. Although promising lots of improvements, Microsoft did not commit to meeting all the standards required to interpret the best HTML practices. As a result, you may start to see the web shift a little when you upgrade. Old or poorly coded sites may not display properly in the new browser. 3W Studios is already testing our code in IE7. If your site is left behind by this upgrade, give us a call.
For you Mac users, you're probably already using something other than IE. That's a good thing because IE7 will not be available for Mac. This is not really a surprise given the success of Safari on the Mac and the emergence of Mozilla's FireFox. FireFox 2 is now available for download and has versions for both Mac OS and Windows.

The Florida Division of Forestry
The Florida Division of Forestry has launched their new outreach campaign. The campaign is aimed at increasing awareness of a great resource for land owners in Florida, their County Forester. The campaign involves branding, printed material for information and education, and a specially focused website. Rollout of the new campaign was through a series of state and local press conferences throughout October.

Nature Bridges
Nature Bridges wanted their redesign to 'pop'. The resulting refreshment drew from the company's offline use of colors from their logo, and introduced more visual elements than the previously more subdued site. The redesign was more than just a new skin - subtle improvements in how the galleries work and additional gallery photos make for a compelling display of the company's capabilities.

Capital Health Plan Advantage Plan Site
Capital Health Plan has launched an expanded redesign of the site dedicated to their Advantage and Advantage Plus Plans. These plans are for Medicare recipients, available under the recently revised Medicare options. The site covers a variety of plans and plan years, each with their own specific plan details - all made easily accessible through a master introduction. The site is designed to meet all the requirements laid out by CMS, the government agency charged with oversight of these plans. This includes accessibility in the design.

Luxury Vacation Villas en Provence has launched a redesigned site. The existing site had grown from a single property into a good-sized group. As a result, the site's navigational structure was less than optimal. It was also time to update the flavor of the site to reflect the quality of the properties available. The new site blends provencal charm with subtle sophistication. The journal feature makes use of the growing importance of blogs to good search engine ranking, as well as giving potential renters more insight into local life.

Although several clients operate in Asia, this is our first Asian-based website, bringing to 4 the number of continents in which we operate. The site itself showcases rental property in Bali. The rental operator targets western clients, so although the company and the site are located in Singapore, they wanted a western design and an English-language site.
