2006.12.13 FDLE Named IT Leader of the Year
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement was named "IT Leader of the Year" by ITFlorida at their annual awards ceremony. FDLE won the title for their implementation of technology to satisfy the Jessica Lundsford Act (JLA). The systems implemented allow for the electronic submission of sex offender registrations to FDLE from sheriff's offices and probation offices. This includes biometric data to allow for real-time processing and confirmation of the registrant. The JLA system is a pilot version of the FALCON ICHS project, a multi-year FDLE initiative. As part of the FALCON team, 3W Studios provides screen and interface design for the web-based elements of the system. This is the second award for the JLA system. In September, the International Association of Law Enforcement Planners awarded FDLE the "Project of the Year" award.
