Ashley - You're Hired!
Kidd Public Relations has completed its recent PR Apprentice competition, with Ashley McKeen being declared the winner. The competition saw 6 interns vie for a full-time staff position at the company. The band of hopefuls were given a variety of tasks to complete, and just like on the TV show, one by one the field was narrowed. The final task saw the remaining contenders present a campaign pitch to the entire company at Kidd Group main office.

One of the bigger stories in the tech world recently has been the offer from Microsoft to buy Yahoo. It certainly stirred the market and Yahoo has been fighting it off. They even recently teamed up with Google, an event which saw their stock rise nicely. For those who still relate to traditional media, be warned: according to this blog entry, in the U.K., Google is about to overtake the leading television station in advertising revenue.
In other news, a major find this month has been a new kind of computer vulnerability that we may all want to be concerned about. Researchers at IBM have found a new way to hack Flash, the ubiquitous animation engine of the web. Why care? With an estimated 850 million users worldwide, it seems now only a matter of time before someone exploits it.
Some good security news: PayPal will soon block non-secure browsers from using its services. A rare case of a company saving its users from themselves.
