Things that changed the internet
"Twenty-five years ago the Internet as we now know it was in the process of being birthed by the National Science Foundation. Since then it's been an information explosion. From e-mail to eBay, communication and shopping have forever changed."
The National Science Foundation? And here I thought (not really) that it was Al Gore's invention. Well, just as the internet can be used to spread rumors, it can also be used to debunk them.
Obviously the internet has changed your life. The simple fact that you're reading this newsletter is proof of that. But how did it get to this point? USA Today believes they know. They've come up with a list of the top 25 things that have contributed most to the internet's development. Although USA Today didn't consider 3W Studios worthy to appear on the list, we'd like to think that we at least contributed some heat to that explosion.

Online Application Takes Hold
|
Although Florida law makers didn't manage to address the Florida KidCare program before session ended this year, there is success to report in 2007. February 15 marked the one year anniversary of the launch of the Healthy Kids online application, and the data from the first year makes good reading.
In the first full month of availability the online application accounted for 47% of all applications. By December that had grown to 61%, supplanting the printed application as the main method of applying. Surprisingly, however, this was true across all demographics. The study found that although the typical online applicant was male, white and educated, all groups chose the bilingual online form in favor of the old printed/postal method. Users also reported across the board that the form was easy to use and to understand. The big benefit to the program is built-in error checking has cut down on processing errors.

The next phase of development will see tighter integration of the application with the approval process and improved account management for existing account holders. Learn more about Healthy Kids and KidCare, and apply online, at www.healthykids.org.
