Microsoft Drops IE 5 Support
We like to keep you updated on developments in the browser market, and that includes retirements as well as new breakthroughs. Microsoft announced that it has ceased support for Internet Explorer for Mac, and it is no longer available for download.
As the Safari browser became available with Mac OS X 10.2, and Mac users have a preference for upgrading quickly, we like to think that this browser will soon be a dim memor that we won't need to support in our cross-browser coding initiatives.
Developers who need to support older browsers can take heart; a full collection of old browsers is maintained by evolt.org including several Mac versions of IE.
