A Brand New Year
Now that the seasonal celebrations are a fast-fading memory, let us be the last to wish you Happy New Year. You may remember us from the spring of 2005, the last time we had the wherewithal to send out our electronic missive. Well, we're back, with twice the energy and enthusiasm. And we have a new look to show for it! This email is an extension of our new website, www.3wstudios.com. If you haven't visited in a while, please do.
And that's not all; our sister companies have also refreshed their online presence with two more new sites for you to enjoy. Kidd Group and Kidd Group Public Relations serve as the other two legs on our stool of communications service, and if you know us only as a company that does websites, please check them out to learn more about our holistic company thinking.
Jeremy Spinks, Studio Director
A year in Review
2005 was a busy year at 3W Studios. We launched a total of 22 new or redesigned sites in these last 12 months, our largest number yet in any one year. A full list is available on our site, but here are a few of the highlights:
 |
Florida Healthy Kids
This redesign called for a lot of energy to turn it around from being very policy-centric to focusing on customers, the families of Florida who need affordable health insurance. The system stepped up several gears to become a secure, HIPAA compliant workhorse that will soon accept applications to the system online.

Agronomic Systems Design
It is always very satisfying to be able to provide a complete package of service. Agronomic Systems Design had us lead them through a re-branding process that led to one of our favorite logos of the year, and all the associated printed and online material that a new brand needs.

 |
Plum Assignment
They don't have to be big or complicated to be enjoyable. Plum Assignment is a freelance writing operation in Idaho that needed a small site it could maintain and grow itself. This quick and simple site turned out to be one of the most attractive.

New Arrivals
2005 was also a very productive year on the home front. In case you had noticed bleary eyes, slurred speech and incoherent email, the reason could well have been one of two new additions to our families. In March, Studio Director Jeremy Spinks welcomed Charlotte Isabel to his household; and just days ago IT Director Angela Geluso celebrated the New Year with the arrival of her first child, Christian Lynn. (Note that other staff members suffering from in-coherency may just be acting normally.)
We also welcomed Shekira Derryberry as our newest multimedia designer in the fall. Shekira will be providing IT support during Angela's absence, as well as performing maintenance and design tasks for established clients.
New Commitments
Finally, I'd like to share with you our resolution for 2006. Starting in January, 3W Studios will be offering our clients the opportunity to offset carbon dioxide production by planting trees in one of our state parks here in Florida. A website is itself a great way to have a low environmental footprint - less paper, less travel, but even so, it requires electricity and that creates carbon dioxide. Our small gesture should start to quickly add up; if we had planted a tree for all the sites we launched last year, we would be roughly 20% of the way toward offsetting the CO2 production of our head office. You can learn more about our efforts on our site, and if you'd like to participate just drop us an email for more details.
